Welcome to the website for the first ever North Carolina Food System Alternative Spring Break. We are very excited to have received a generous grant from the Food for All Steering Committee that will allow this trip to extensively explore our topics, including food access, culture and production. We will be exploring North Carolina’s food system from the east to west from Friday, March 9th-Saturday to March 17th.

We would like to emphasize the learning part of this trip just as much as the service component. While we understand that service is certainly a gratifying experience and can contribute to the communities we work with, we also understand that due to the short-term nature of the trip, our impact might not always be effective. Therefore, we will be spending a significant portion of the trip learning from professionals and individuals who can share their perspectives and present topics to us in a more in depth manor.
